Our governing body, an annually elected Board of Managers, comprises a diverse group of large and small companies and institutions, ranging from a few hundred employees to over 10,000: the City of New York, ConEd, Cornell University, Costco Wholesale, Eastman Kodak, General Motors, Hilton Hotels, International Paper, Magna Powertrain, Marriott International, National Fuel, New York University, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Syracuse University, University of Rochester, UPS, and Verizon, to name a few.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES and ELIGIBILITY are as follows:
  • ACTIVE: Any person, firm, public entity, or corporation organized to or which conducts a business, whether or not for profit, and which is a self-insurer.
  • PROFESSIONAL: Any person, firm, business, or corporation which provides workers’ compensation related services to or which represents self-insurers.
  • AFFILIATE: Any association or group of employers which is a recognized self-insurer or the parent or subsidiary of a corporation affiliated with an active member or former self-insured.

Dues are the major source of revenue for NYSIA and are based upon the average number of employees in your company.
